Kansas is back in the #1 spot in the newest college basketball AP Top 25 Poll.

Gonzaga had earned the top spot after the Zags defeated Duke a couple of weeks ago but a loss this past week to Tennessee opened up the slot for the Jayhawks to grab it.

And the Tennessee Volunteers continue to impress – that win over Gonzaga puts the Vols into the #3 spot in the rankings.

Meanwhile, Tom Izzo’s Spartans advanced one spot and they now sit at the #9 position in the AP’s Top 25.

With three home games that appear to be winnable coming between now and the end of the month, Michigan State should be well positioned as a Top 10 team when the Big Ten season kicks back in with Northwestern’s January 2nd visit to East Lansing.
