Harbaugh Being Hugged For Quote About Civility - But Come On, People...

UMAA’s head coach is getting some hugs from The Experts for a quote referencing civility and such. Let’s not all now just conveniently forget facts and real, actual things that this guy has said and done.

This morning, UMAA’s J. Ira and Nikki Harris Family Head Football Coach is sort of receiving some hugs from The Experts for a quote that went like this about the customary trash talk in advance of the Michigan State v UMAA game:

“I think we could all use a break from the cliches that have been plowed so thoroughly on both sides.”

Before we all start to shower Harbaugh with praise and refer to how he’s really got his head down and he’s trying to contribute to a good vibe and all of that, can we please stop and live in the real world by pointing out that this is the the same guy who sent this out on the Twitter –

I’m all for playing nicely in the sandbox and all of that.

But when people say and do things that totally fly in the face of what they’re saying now, it’s fair and even necessary to point out the hypocrisy.

I once told Schneeberger that he was ugly.

If I now call him up on the phone and, without referencing the fact that I once told him he was ugly, just sort of start to tell him that I think he’s a handsome man and that his hairline is quite becoming and I like what he’s doing with his sideburns, isn’t it okay for Schneeberger to either say to himself or just say directly to me, “Sullivan – that’s sort of a nice thing to say but it doesn’t mean that I don’t remember that you told me – quite bluntly – that I was ugly once and you’re still a jamoke for saying that to me.”

Come on, folks.
