Game Against Northwestern Is The Only Game That Matters

Michigan State’s slow start this season has The Experts pointing to a disappointing season when all is said and done. The only game that matters right now, however, is the next game.

I know what you’re thinking.

Michigan State has not looked all that good so far this season…

The Spartans might be 3-1 but they haven’t done anything to make you think they will be in any position to compete for the Big Ten Championship…

The Big Boys of the Big Ten look like heavyweights while the Spartans sputter along, struggling to put away mediocre opponents…

Michigan State might have a hard time achieving a 6-6 record based on the way it’s played so far this season…

I understand where, how, and why all of those thoughts – and so many more – can be filling up your Green & White brains.

But here’s the only thing that Michigan State fans really should be focused on, concerned about, worrying about, losing sleep over, and vexing over –

This Saturday’s game against Northwestern at Spartan Stadium.

Michigan State has a one-game season that it will be playing this Saturday and Northwestern is the opponent.

Michigan State has a chance to go 1-0 this Saturday by beating Northwestern at home.

The Spartans are playing against one team and one team only in one game this Saturday when they go up against Northwestern at 12n et at Spartan Stadium.

Michigan State can win a grand total of one game six days from now when the Spartans go up against the Northwestern Wildcats in East Lansing.

Michigan State will not be playing three games against three different teams on Saturday – it will be playing one game on Saturday and the game is against Northwestern.

Michigan State has a good shot at defeating Northwestern this coming Saturday at Spartan Stadium.

Throughout the course of the week ahead, SpartansWire is going to take a close look at all of the elements that will be important factors in Michigan State’s game against Northwestern this Saturday.

SpartansWire is not going to examine what may or may not happen in the 11th game of the Spartans’ season because the 11th game of the Spartans’ season matters as much as my major achievement over this weekend of eating seven large Polish sausages in one sitting at a backyard cookout party.

What matters more than my amazing, championship performance of consuming the seven very large Polish sausages is Michigan State’s single game against Northwestern at Spartan Stadium this Saturday.

As far as Spartans should be concerned, there aren’t even any other games that are on the Michigan State schedule right now because there is only one game that the Spartans will be playing and can win this Saturday and that one game is the game against Northwestern.

Michigan State plays Northwestern – and only Northwestern – this coming Saturday and the Spartans have a legitimate shot at winning the game and getting to an overall record of 4-1 and a Big Ten record of 2-0.

Whatever anyone else may want to talk about does not matter at all.

Got it, folks?
