What do our pals over at CollegeFootballNews.com think is going to happen when Michigan State squares off with Arizona State this Saturday night in Tempe?

Don’t kill the messenger who is sharing someone else’s message.

The folks over at CollegeFootballNews have written a lot of nifty things about Michigan State over the years and so we need to cut them a little slack.

And the perspective provided within the official game prediction from Pete Fiutak – the brains and braun behind the CollegeFootballNews machine – has a whole lot of practical and logical components baked into the preview of the game.

I looked at the weather forecast for the entire 24-hour period of Saturday, September 8th and the day’s predicted high is 137 degrees coming at around 3p.  The “low” for the day is predicted to be a comfy 88.7 degrees right around 10p.

** Those temperatures were noted on a tree that of the front yard of a guy I know who lives in my town who is an Arizona State graduate and he’s been posting these temperature forecasts for my benefit.  So, it’s possible that the temperatures won’t be quite so toasty when the game is being played.

SpartansWire will provide our official game prediction tomorrow (Thursday) and we won’t just copy and paste what Fiutak has published here since that’s not very nice.

But it’s hard to ignore some of the points Fiutak makes in here.

This dude who catches passes for the Devils – N’Keal Harry – is slightly better than Octavis Long was.

(Octavis was actually a pretty nifty player.)

N’Keal Harry had 140 yards on six catches against the UTSA Roadrunners in the Sun Devils’ opener, a 49-7 victory for ASU.

Manny Wilkins is a veteran 5th year senior quarterback who completed 63% of his passes, had 3,270 yards and 20 touchdown tosses in 2017 – and he opened up the season last week against the Roadrunners with a pretty slick performance that included being 16 of 24 for 237 yards and four touchdowns.

And Manny is a smidgeon better than Todd Schultz was.

(Schultz was not the strongest or most productive of Spartan quarterbacks. He would have been “better” if he had been better at passing the ball and running the ball and avoiding passing the ball to members of the opposing teams against whom the Spartans played. But, we hope he’s well now and that he enjoys cheering on the fellas.)

Separate from the guys who bring some explosiveness to the Sun Devils on offense, the Arizona State defense terrorized the Roadrunners in the opener with ten – TEN – sacks.

Michigan State is going to have its hands full on Saturday night – no doubt about it.

Do we like what Fiutak thinks is going to happen?

Do we agree with what Fiutak thinks is going to happen?

(That’s Fiutak meditating in the middle of a broadcast studio – he’s important)

Will we still be friends with Fiutak even though his prediction is presented with some pretty good meat on the bone and might make some folks out there sad?

Check out what he thinks right here, folks –
