What does it say about the state of the Michigan State football program when some Spartans might actually scoff at a projection has the Spartans playing Boise State on New Year’s Day in the Fiesta Bowl, one of the New Year’s Six Bowls?

The Big Ten Championship and the College Football Playoff is the goal for 2018 – don’t let anyone fool you into thinking that’s not what the situation is here.

The Fiesta Bowl would be quite a consolation prize – and watching Michigan State go up against Boise State would be a terrific way to ring in the New Year.

Boise State made the most of its trip to the 2007 Fiesta Bowl when it hammered home the idea that the Broncos had arrived as a program against Oklahoma –

But there are big fish to fry over the course of the season before Michigan State gets around to “settling” for the Fiesta Bowl.

CollegeFootballNews has its full slate of bowl projections up and devouring the crystal ball is like getting to the meat lovers’ buffet table after a week of nothing but gluten-free stuff.

Who’s going to the College Football Playoff?

Who’s going to square off in the Cheribundi Tart Boca Raton Bowl to be played at Howard Schnellenberger Field at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida?

Would fans of North Texas make the trip for the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl?  I would.

Would Texas really accept the invitation to play in the Cheez-It Bowl?  It should.

I know at least one person who will be watching the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl no matter who plays in the game.  Me.

If TCU and Texas A&M actually end up going up against one another in the Academy Sports & Outdoors Texas Bowl, that’ll be like watching a real college football game.

The people at SERVPRO did sensational work when they arrived on the scene when my own house was destroyed by a massive fire in 2007 and that’s not the only reason I’ll be tuned in to the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl on the day after Christmas no matter what teams are on the field.
