With Big Ten Media Days about to kickoff in Chicago, more of the experts are letting their thoughts be known about how the Big Ten football season is going to play out.

CollegeFootballNews.com checks in with game-by-game predictions for the Big Ten East and the Big Ten West and, as usual, the braintrust at CFN is showing that there are brains that can be trusted there.

I don’t think I’m aware of a site or a network or a newspaper or a social club or a traveling circus that has the cajones to literally go through every team’s schedule and make on-the-record predictions about every single game.

CFN does just that, however.

And when we look closely at CFN’s game-by-game predictions for Michigan State, we see a 10-2 season ahead.

The key, specific prediction that jumps out at us here at SpartansWire is the “W” CFN puts right next to Michigan State’s November 10th game against Ohio State in East Lansing.

CFN gets a gold star for this prediction.

The other prediction most-worthy of note is the “W” next to the October 20th game against UMAA in East Lansing.

CFN gets another gold star for this prediction.

CFN sees the Spartans losing at Penn State on October 13th and at Nebraska on November 17th.

While CFN gets two poo emojis for these two predictions, we’re actually comfortable with CFN’s overall game-by-predictions.

Still, even though we’re “comfortable” with the overall game-by-game predictions and the way they lead to a 10-2 overall record for the Spartans, we have the responsibility to let our readers know that CFN is “wrong” about the two losses they envision for the Spartans.

SpartansWire has gone on record with game-by-game predictions that we will be sharing, again, with our readers after Big Ten Media Days.

Take a look at the way CFN thinks every single Big Ten East football team’s schedule will play out, game by game….

Big Ten East Schedules & Predictions

BIG TEN EAST

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan State
T3. Michigan
T3. Penn State
5. Maryland
6. Rutgers
7. Indiana

– The predictions aren’t far off from the Big Ten Preseason Team Rankings – which are based on how good the teams are going into the season – with it all once again coming down to the big games when Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Ohio State all facing each other. One of the biggest keys is that Penn State and Michigan deal with Wisconsin from the West, and Michigan State and Ohio State don’t.

– One of the biggest new things in the Big Ten East? Maryland should be far better if the quarterback situation is okay, and Rutgers is about to be much more competitive. They’re both good enough to come up with a shocker somewhere.

– The home field advantage is a huge deal, obviously. Michigan State gets Michigan and Ohio State at home, but has to go to Penn State. Ohio State also has to deal with a road date in Happy Valley, but gets Michigan in Columbus. The Wolverines having to go to Ohio State and Michigan State is a problem.
