Desmond Howard - Thank You....

You’d think that the UMAA folks would avoid the trap of regurgitating similar narratives that Mike Hart drove that got this whole thing started.  But Desmond Howard shows that maintaining arrogance is more important than winning games…

This interview with Desmond Howard caught the attention of some folks last October a few days prior to Michigan State’s 14-10 win over the Wolverines in Ann Arbor.

Around the 4:00 mark, Howard demonstrates what really has become a hilarious narrative and perspective that the UMAAers have run with for a decade now.

He says it – the game against Michigan State really doesn’t matter to UMAA.

You know what, Desmond?

You and the entire UMAA crowd have made that very clear by getting your behinds handed to you by Michigan State ever since Mark Dantonio arrived.

Go right on focusing on the other rivalry against Ohio State where your alma mater is 3-15 since 2000.

If that works for you guys, I guess that’s pretty cool.

In addition to Desmond’s comical perspective on the way Michigan State has dominated UMAA, he talks about how UMAA’s current head coach has returned the program to a position of greatness through toughness.

Around the 9:45 mark, Howard says, “Look at the 49ers have been like since Harbaugh left and look at what Michigan has been like with Harbaugh.”

I don’t care about the 49ers so I’ll focus on Howard’s comments regarding UMAA under Harbaugh.

Two 3rd places and one 4th place in the Big Ten East.

Desmond – keep it up.

Please.

You and all of your pals can continue to live in your dreamworld where it’s always 1986 and we’ll gladly continue to listen to you talk about how you don’t really care about the game against your in-state non-rival.

And when Michigan State and Mark Dantonio go to a 9-3 overall mark against UMAA en route to the Spartans’ second appearance in the College Football Playoff this coming Fall, I hope the blanket you and the entire UMAA wrap yourselves in continues to keep you warm and cozy.

Meanwhile, Michigan State will just go about its business.

A key component of that business?

Kicking UMAA’s butt.

And, by the way, Desmond – you dropped the ball…

Don’t take my word for it that Desmond dropped it – listen to Keith Jackson.

It’s sort of like “No means no.”

“He dropped it means he dropped it.”

Keith says it five times.

Five times.

The fifth time is especially revealing and interesting in the way Keith adds, “He had it………..”

And then Keith punctuates that fifth time with, “…….And he dropped it…”

Just go right to the 4:00 mark of the nifty clip below.

Keep the dream alive, Desmond.

We’ll just keep doing our thing, too.
